Famous Russian rifle maker Kalashnikov taken to hospital over health worsening

Over 70 million units of modified Kalashnikov gun have been produced worldwide

November 18, /ITAR-TASS/. Famous Russian rifle maker Mikhail Kalashnikov is taken to the hospital over a worse state of health, the press service of the president and the government of Russia’s Udmurtia reported on Monday.

Mikhail Kalashnikov was taken to hospital in Izhevsk.

“On November 17, 2013, as he was feeling unwell, Mikhail Timofeyevich Kalashnikov was taken to hospital,” press service of Udmurtia’s president and government said referring to information from the local healthcare authority.

The press service reports all necessary tests continue now.

Mikhail Kalashnikov was born on November 10, 1919 in the Altai Region. He designed his famous automated gun in 1947. Since that time, over 70 million units of modified gun have been produced worldwide.
