MOSCOW, November 15 (ITAR-TASS) - The Russian Helicopters holding will present at the International Dubai Airshow 2013 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) a number of prospective civilian and military helicopters, as well as those currently in production, company spokesman Roman Kirillov told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

Russian Helicopters, JSC is a subsidiary of the Oboronprom United Industrial Corporation, which in turn is a part of State Corporation Rostec. It is one of the global leaders in helicopter production and the only helicopter design and production powerhouse in Russia. Russian Helicopters is headquartered in Moscow

According to the holding spokesman, Russian Helicopters will demonstrate serial civilian helicopters, including the Kamov Ka-32A11BC, and prospective models - the multi-purpose Mil Mi-171A2, the newest Ka-62 and the upgraded Mi-26T2 helicopter.

The medium multipurpose Mi-171A2 helicopter is based on the famous Mi-8/17 series with the latest technology and materials and complies with the requirements of helicopter operators in different regions. The fire-fighting version of the Ka-32A11BC coaxial rotor helicopter is highly effective in extinguishing natural and man-caused fires. The helicopter has also been successfully used in search and rescue missions and medical evacuation.

The new helicopter Ka-62, which is designed for the transportation of passengers, rescue operations and other functions, is expected to evoke traditionally high interest at the show. It is planned to begin tests of Ka-62 in late 2013, and its international certification is planned for 2015 - 2016.

The Mi-26T2 helicopter was developed on the basis on the unique largest and most powerful in the world Mi-26T helicopter. It will get modernised engines. A new avionics system will make it possible to reduce the helicopter’s crew to two pilots. The new Mi-26T2 will reduce the helicopter’s operational costs and the flight personnel training costs.

Together with the Rosoboronexport arms exporting company, the holding will also present at the air show military helicopters - the modernised Mi-35 helicopter that is created on the basis of the world-famous Mi-24; the Ka-52 Alligator reconnaissance and attack helicopter with coaxial rotors; Mi-28NE Night Hunter attack helicopter, as well as the military transport helicopters Mi-17V-5 and Mi-171Sh.
