A criminal case is opened over the explosion, an official at the Russian Investigative Committee's department in Dagestan told Itar-Tass.

Unknown attackers at about 11:20 Moscow time on Friday went to the "24" food store located at the crossing of Kotrov Street and Yaragsky Street, shot a guard, left an explosive device inside and escaped, the source said.

The guard died. The bomb went off in the store, injuring two people. The building is seriously damaged, the SK official said.
