MAKHACHKALA, October 30 (Itar-Tass) - Three law enforcers were injured in the bomb blasts in central Makhachkala, Russian North Caucasian Republic of Dagestan, a representative of the Dagestani investigation department of the Russian Investigation Committee told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.
“The exact number of injured people is being specified. Three law enforcers are among them,” the republican branch of the Investigative Committee said.
According to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee, “Unidentified criminals have detonated two explosive devices at about 17:00 Moscow time (13:00 GMT) on Wednesday at two neighbouring shops on the crossroads of the streets Korkmasov and Dakhadayev in Makhachkala.” According to latest reports, one person was killed and eight people were injured. The necessary medical aid is being given to injured people.
The fire broke out in the area where the blast went off. The fire has spread on neighbouring shops and cafes. The gas supply is disconnected in the street, the firemen are working at the fire site. On the orders from the head of the operations headquarters of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee the forces of the Federal Security Service, the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the incident site.
Dakhadayev Street is one of central and lively streets in the city and is leading to the central square in Makhachkala. Many shops, cafes, the stadium Dynamo, at which Anji Makhachkala had played its home matches, are situated in the street.
