Putin congratulates Turkmenistani President on occasion of Independence Day

He notes Turkmenistan’s achievements in the economy and the social sphere, as well as the fruitful role the country is playing in regional and international affairs

MOSCOW, October 27 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent congratulations to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedow of Turkmenistan on the occasion of the Central Asian country’s main national holiday - Independence Day.

Putin’s telegram of congratulations notes Turkmenistan’s achievements in the economy and the social sphere, as well as the fruitful role the country is playing in regional and international affairs, the Kremlin press service said.

Putin also underlines the successful development of Russian-Turkmenistani relations in the spirit of strategic partnership and expresses the hope for further active buildup of the entire complex of mutually beneficial bilateral relations in the interests of fraternal peoples of Russia and Turkmenistan and in the spirit of a general assuring of stability and security in Central Asia.
