Russia, U.S. discuss Geneva II Syria peace conference

Deputy Secretary of State William Burns had no statement for journalists after the meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov

MOSCOW, October 21 (Itar-Tass) - International peace talks known as Geneva II and aimed at ending conflict in Syria were under discussion in the Russian Foreign Ministry on Monday, a ministry spokesman said of talks between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and American counterpart, Deputy Secretary of State William Burns.

Burns, leaving Moscow on Tuesday, had no statement for journalists after the meeting, reported earlier as held “to discuss a wide range of global and bilateral issues, including security co-operation and the commitment to deepening the bilateral trade and investment relationship”.
