Sergei Ivanov appointed chairman of committee to prepare Russia’s G8 presidency

Director of the Federal Guard Service Yevgeny Murov and presidential aide Yuri Ushakov have been appointed Ivanov’s deputies

MOSCOW, October 21 (Itar-Tass) - President Vladimir Putin has approved the composition of the organizing committee to prepare and provide Russia’s presidency in the Group of Eight.

Putin signed a decree, which had been put on the legal information portal.

Chief of staff Sergei Ivanov has been appointed chairman of the organizing committee. Director of the Federal Guard Service Yevgeny Murov and presidential aide Yuri Ushakov have been appointed Ivanov’s deputies.

The organizing committee also involves the leadership of the Transport Ministry, the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), the Federal Security Service (FSB), the Defense Ministry, the Interior Ministry, the Economic Development Ministry, the Regional Development Ministry, the Foreign Ministry, the Finance Ministry and Gazprom.
