European Commission to submit proposals to ease visa regime with Russia

VERONA, October 18 (Itar-Tass) - The European Commission is planning to submit proposals to the European Parliament on easing visa formalities with Russia, European Commission Vice-President Antonio Tajani said.

Tajani said many years after the time had come to strengthen accord with Russia, which opened big opportunities for the EU.

To this end, it is necessary to change visa entry rules, the European Commission vice-president said.

Moscow is a European city and the EC can offer much to Russian residents: from tourism and luxury to know-how in chemical industry and space. This is a commercial market, which are balanced by Russia’s initiative in the energy sector, Tajani said.
