BEIJING, October 15 (Itar-Tass) - Russia supports cooperation projects with Chinese partners in the extraction and liquefaction of natural gas, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters on Tuesday.

Dvorkovich headed a Russian delegation to the tenth meeting of the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission on Energy Cooperation which ended by signing a protocol.

“As for the gas sphere, it important to draft a contract for supplying gas via the western route. The two sides have already agreed on gas volumes and are expected to reach an agreement on technical conditions soon. Besides, price formation talks are under way. We are planning ot finish all talks by the end of the year,” Dvorkovich said. “We hope that the upcoming visit of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to China scheduled for October 21-23 will give a fresh impetus to the aforesaid talks,” the Russian deputy premier said.
