MOSCOW, October 15. (ITAR-TASS). — Identity of the alleged killer of Yegor Shcherbakov in Mocow’s Biryulyovo district has been established, Moscow police press service told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
"According to available data, the person allegedly involved in the murder of a young man in Vostryakovskiy Lane is a native of Azerbaijan Orhan Zeynalov. Operational and investigative measures are conducted to arrest the suspect," the police said.
Murder of 25-year-old Muscovite
Egor Shcherbakov was killed overnight to October 10. An unidentified man repeatedly stabbed him in front of his girlfriend.
After that, a meeting of citizens was held in Western Biryulyovo, at which the locals demanded to find and punish the murderer of the young man, and to check all migrants living in the area. After the public gathering a group of young people, shouting nationalist slogans, attacked the Biryuza shopping mall. They also began to turn over and break cars. The protesters managed to break in the horticulture base. After the clashes the police detained about 400 people.
Over 70 of them were brought to administrative responsibility. Two persons have been arrested for 48 hours.
What goes on in Biryulyovo
After mass unrest experts of the Federal Migration Service and Rospotrebnadzor (Russia’s consumer rights watchdog) conducted checks in the vegetable warehouse in Western Biryulevo. Investigative Committee officials seized financial documents and materials on industrial intake.
The functioning of the vegetable warehouse has been suspended for five days. Its sanitary condition has been recognized as unsatisfactory. The audit results will be transferred to the court for further proceedings. A regular migration control checkpoint would be set up on the vegetable base.
Recent reports say the situation around the base and generally in the area is calm. In Biryulyovo, additional police squads were introduced; district police officers patrol the area together with activists opposed to violations of immigration law.
