BAKU, October 10 (Itar-Tass) - Ilkham Aliyev has won 84.73 percent of votes at presidential elections in Azerbaijan, head of the Central Election Commission Mazakhir Panakhov said on Wednesday, October 9.
“After ballots have been counted from 72 percent of polling stations [3,937 out of 5,492 polling stations] Ilkham Aliyev takes the lead in the elections,” Panakhov said.
Over 140,000 people (5.2 percent) voted for Aliyev’s key opponent - Dzhamil Gasanli, the CEC reported.
“None doubts that Ilkham Aliyev can be considered a winner,” Panakhov said.
