MOSCOW, October 9 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian Olympic Committee and the Russian main airline Aeroflot signed an agreement for the delivery of the Russian official delegation to the 22nd Winter Olympics, which will be held on February 7-23, 2014.
President of the Russian Olympic Committee Aleksander Zhukov and OJSC Aeroflot - Russian Airlines Director General Vitaly Savelyev inked the document.
Over 800 athletes, members of the official delegation, sizable and transportation-fragile special luggage will be brought to the Olympic capital by the Aeroflot flights.
The Russian Olympic Committee has been cooperating with Aeroflot since 1994.
During the Sochi Olympics the air company plans to make the air traffic with Sochi more intensive, increasing the number of daily flights to 12, including ‘the Olympic air bridge’ with Europe - direct flights to Sochi from Frankfurt am Main, which will be introduced particularly for the time of the Olympics, as well as additional flights, on which comfortable wide-body airliners Boeing777-300ER will be used.
