MOSCOW, October 8 (Itar-Tass) - Chairperson of the Federation Council, upper house of Russia’s parliament, Valentina Matviyenko praises the government’s decision to freeze the rise in tariffs on natural monopolies for industrial users.
Matviyenko also lauds the government’s decision on tariffs indexing for the population in compliance with the rule “minus inflation”.
Speaking at the debates devoted to a draft federal law on the 2014 budget, the Federation Council chairperson said, “This is the maneuver, which is aimed at lowering costs. We’ll hope that this measure will give enterprises additional resources.”
“The Economic Development Ministry reports that the economy can give about 430 billion rubles in 2014-2015,” she said, adding that the government’s decision “will allow infrastructural monopolies to optimize their own costs”.
