Russian military units disinfect buildings, roads in flooded Far East

The Russian defence ministry’s combined NBC defence units have disinfected over 7,300 buildings

MOSCOW, October 6 (Itar-Tass) - Units of the Russian nuclear, biological and chemical defence troops /NBC defence/ assigned to the Eastern Military District have disinfected 532 buildings and 35 kilometres of roads in the country’s Far East since Saturday morning, the defence ministry’s press service said on Sunday.

The Russian defence ministry’s combined NBC defence units have disinfected over 7,300 buildings, 325 kilometres of motor roads on an area of more than 871 square kilometres since the start of the operation to eliminate aftermaths of the disastrous flooding, which struck the most populated districts of the Russian Far East in August and September.

Servicemen will remain engaged in relief activities for the time being helping the floods victims, the ministry says.
