Putin to give start to Olympic Torch Relay in Russia on Red Square October 6

MOSCOW, October 5 (Itar-Tass) - President Vladimir Putin will give a start to the Olympic Torch Relay in Russia on the Red Square on October 6, the Kremlin press service reported.

The Olympic Torch Relay will pass through 83 Russian regions and 130 cities. The itinerary’s length will reach 65,000 kilometres, the press service said.

“The Olympic Torch Relay will last for 123 days and involve 14,000 torchbearers and about 30,000 volunteers,” the press service said.

The Torch Relay will end at the Olympic Stadium, Fisht, on February 7, 2014 where the XXII Olympic Games are opened.
