STRASBOURG, September 30. (ITAR-TASS). - President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Jean-Claude Mignon, whose term expires at the end of this year, intends to run for the post of Secretary General of the Council of Europe in 2014. He said this to journalists on Monday at the opening of the PACE autumn session.
"The likelihood that I will offer my candidature for the post of secretary-general next year is very high," Mignon said. The head of PACE stressed that the final decision would be taken as soon as he enlists the support of his government.
