NIZHNY TAGIL, September 28 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian Arms Expo international exhibition, which takes place on the Staratel test ground in Nizhny Tagil, has shown the great potential of Russia's military industry and clearly indicated the positions of Russia as one of the leading players on the world arms market, director general of the Eurosatory international arms show Patrick Colas des Francs said on Saturday.

It was his first visit to Russian Arms Expo, and in his words, he was impressed both by the show and the organization of the event.

Eurosatory is an observer of Russian Arms Expo.

The Russian exhibition has made rapid progress, showing latest models of the Russia's military industry, the Uralvagonzavod research and production corporation's director-general Oleg Siyenko said on Saturday.

"In the view of our colleagues, first of all foreign, the level of the event has risen significantly," he noted.

Uralvagonzavod has been the organizer of the exhibition since last year.

The Sverdlovsk Region's Governor Yevgeny Kuivashev noted that the Tagil exhibition attracted much attention, and the interest was growing. This was confirmed by the presence of NATO specialists. "We are interesting for the world community. We have what to show and surprise," the governor said, adding Uralvagonzavod had everything to make the next tenth jubilee exhibition even better.

Russia Arms Expo is an international exhibition of arms, military equipment and ammunition held once in two years since 1999 in the city of Nizhny Tagil, the Ural region, on the Staratel test ground of the Nizhny Tagil-based Metal Testing Institute.

About 400 companies from 40 countries participated in the ninth exhibition held from September 25 to 28.
