MAKHACHKALA, September 23 (Itar-Tass) - Two policemen were killed and six were injured in a car blast near a police precinct in the settlement of Khuchni in Dagestan, southern Russia, a spokesman for the republican interior ministry said.
“Six people were injured. Five received slight injuries, and one person is in critical condition,” he said.
The blast occurred early on Monday. According to the Interior Ministry representative, “a car with a terrorist was moving near a local police precinct, and then it sharply turned towards it and exploded”.
“It did not drive into the territory of the police precinct, but exploded near a two-storey building under construction,” the source added.
He said work formation was in progress outdoors at that moment, and that is why many people were injured. There are also civilians among the injured.
Sources from the republican investigative committee said “the blast occurred not near the local police precinct itself, but at the so-called resident registration office”. Specialists are checking the information that the car had been blasted by a suicide bomber, the sources said.
