About 46 km of roads restored in Far East flood zone

The Defense Ministry’s forces have was pumped out more than 300,000 cubic meters of water

MOSCOW, September 23 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Defense Ministry’s forces have restored about 46 km of automobile roads in the Far East flood zone. They have transported more than 100,000 cubic meters of soil, prepared and laid more than 1 million sandbags, the Defense Ministry’s press office reported on Monday.

Also, the Defense Ministry’s forces have was pumped out more than 300,000 cubic meters of water and more than 1,000 tons of fuel oil emulsion, laid about 1 km of pipes, dug more than 7,500 cubic meters of drainage ditches, supplied about 3,000 cubic meters of drinking water.

As the peak of flooding has passed and the water level has declined, the redistribution of forces and means in the emergency zone continues. The military that had been involved in the building and reinforcement of flood-control dams, are now engaged in the cleanup and disinfection of the territories where the flood has subsided, said the Ministry of Defense.
