Russia's Finance Minister appointed co-chair of tripartite commission on inter-budget relations

“This decision will improve the quality of management of the state and municipal finances at all levels of the Russian budget system,” the Cabinet stressed

MOSCOW, September 18 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has approved the membership of the tripartite commission on intergovernmental relations that is made up of Russian government officials.

The Russian government’s official website says that Finance Minister Anton Siluanov was appointed co-chair of the commission from the government. The commission is comprised of 15 representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Regional Development, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Sport, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Agriculture, and the Federal State Statistics Service and Russian government’s staff.

“This decision will improve the quality of management of the state and municipal finances at all levels of the Russian budget system,” the Cabinet stressed.

It said that the tripartite commission is formed from members of the State Duma, Federation Council lower and upper houses of parliament and government officials.

“The main tasks of the tripartite commission are to consider issues of improving and enhancing efficiency of RF inter-budget relations, forming, distributing and allotting inter-budget transfers from the federal budget to the budgets of RF subjects and municipalities, as well as issues related to the development of financial mechanisms to support regional and local budgets,” it is said on the government’s website.
