Japan's Foreign Minister hopes to meet with Lavrov at UN General Assembly session

It is not ruled out that Russia and Japan will continue the dialogue over the problem of a peace treaty at a meeting in New York

TOKYO, September 17 (Itar-Tass) - Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida hopes to meet with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov at a forthcoming session of the U.N. General Assembly in New York. Kishida intends to discuss with Lavrov an ongoing crisis in Syria in particular. Diplomatic sources in Tokyo told Itar-Tass that this issue is being studied.

Japan would also like to discuss the specific content of a 2+2 meeting between the heads of the diplomatic and defense agencies of the two countries due in Tokyo in November. These consultations will be held for the first time.
