HANOI, September 13 (Itar-Tass) - Vietnam lauds Russia’s initiative for the settlement of the Syrian conflict that envisions the placement of the Syrian chemical weapons stockpiles under international control, Director of the information and press department of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Luong Thanh Nghi said in a statement on Friday.
“Vietnam fully supports the initiative put forward by Russia September 9 and the efforts of all parties concerned aimed at alleviating tension in Syria,” the document reads. Hanoi urges all parties concerned to support the proposed initiatives to bring peace back on the Syrian soil as quickly as possible, the spokesman of the republican Foreign Ministry said.
