LDPR suggests changing date of common voting day in Russia

The worst thing in the recent election was the absence of interesting political discussions, LDPR deputy Aleksei Didenko believes

MOSCOW, September 12 (Itar-Tass) - The LDPR party has been working on a bill which envisages compulsory participation of all candidates in pre-election debates, LDPR deputy Aleksei Didenko declared, speaking in the framework of the "Open Rostrum" discussion on Thursday.

"The worst thing in the recent election was the absence of interesting political discussions and rejection of pre-election debates altogether. We had repeatedly raised this question earlier, and now we are preparing a bill that envisages compulsory debates at least for all the leaders on tickets of the candidates on ballot," the MP said.

The LDPR party has also suggested appointing a common voting day in Russia for April instead of September like it was in 2013, the MP said.

Limiting the budgets of the election funds of candidates to ensure fair election is another initiative LDPR intends to put into law.
