Medvedev demands administrative punishment for thwarting federal programs

"I ask the vice-premiers who are in charge of the corresponding sectors to submit their proposals as regards the fate of these programs," Russia's PM said

MOSCOW, September 12 (Itar-Tass) - Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has instructed the vice premiers of the Russian government to consider measures of disciplinary punishment for officials in charge of a number of industries for thwarting the implementation of federal target programs.

"I ask the vice-premiers who are in charge of the corresponding sectors to submit their proposals as regards the fate of these programs and measures of disciplinary responsibility against the officials responsible for the implementation of the federal programs- Clean Water, Development of Tourism, Information Society, State Aviation Safety", Medvedev said.
