Mi-8 helicopter crash-lands in Krasnoyarsk Territory

NOVOSIBIRSK, September 12 (Itar-Tass) - According to early estimates one person was injured when a Mi-8 helicopter crash-landed in the Krasnoyarsk territory, West Siberian transport prosecutor’s office spokeswoman Oksana Gorbunova told ITAR-TASS.

The emergency occurred in daytime on Thursday. The Mi-8 helicopter of the Aero-Geo air lines made an emergency landing near the mouth of the Khuringda River.

“The pilot requested emergency assistance over the radio, saying one person on board had been injured,” Gorbunova said.

According to an earlier statement by the territorial branch of the air traffic supervision authority the Mi-8 was carrying nine people - three crew and six tourists.

An investigation is on. A rescue team is on the way.

The Yenisey transport prosecutor’s office has launched a probe into compliance with the observance of flight safety legislation.
