Putin congratulates all winners at Sunday elections in Russia

President hopes they will start productive work immediately

NOVO-OGAREVO, September 9 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated all winners of the Sunday local elections in Russia and hopes that they will begin positive work immediately.

“The election campaign in executive and representative authorities in Russian federal constituent entities and municipal entities is over the country. As always any election campaigns are linked with the intensification of the political life, disputes, debates in direct and indirect sense of this word. But all ends some time. I would like to congratulate all those who won,” the president said at a meeting of the Russian Security Council at the Russian presidential countryside residence on Monday.

Putin hopes that “all election runners will analyze how they were conducting this political campaign and whether they are satisfied with their results and what should be done to attain a larger trust from the voters.”

The president also hopes that “everybody will begin joint positive work starting from today.” “The joint positive work does not mean a unanimous position on each issue, this means a quite complicated political process,” the president noted. “I hope that actions of all runners in the political race will be aimed at improving the life of voters and improving the condition of economy, social sphere, in this regard, all will be united by a common global and generous task to stabilize further our country and build up its economic and social potential,” Putin noted.
