GORKI, September 9 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Sergei Sobyanin and Andrei Vorobyev on their victory at local elections, Russian prime minister’s spokeswoman Natalya Timakova told reporters on Monday.
“Medvedev congratulated those members of the United Russia party that were running in the governor’s elections and won,” Timakova noted.
The leader of the ruling United Russia party congratulated the governors in those regions, where the vote count is already over, during a visit to the Moscow election staff of the party on Sunday evening. “He congratulated Moscow Mayor-elect Sergei Sobyanin and Governor-elect of Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyev on their victory in the election in a telephone conversation on Monday morning,” Timakova said.
