MOSCOW, September 6 (Itar-Tass) - Separate Engineer Brigade 14 of the Eastern Military District (EMD) have equipped a bridge over Dunaika River at the Voikovo populated area in Konstantinovka Disrict of Amur Region, an official in the Defense Ministry press service told Itar-Tass on Friday.

Ten units of special-purpose engineer machinery and two sets of heavy-duty mechanized bridges (TMM-3) participated in restoring the flood-ruined transportation link.

The TMM-3 is designed to set up bridges over obstacles of up to 40 meters wide and up to three meters deep with a view to enabling wheeled and crawler-mounted vehicles weighing up to 60 tons to ride along. The bridge set comprises four KRAZ truck-mounted bridge-layers carrying bridge blocks with pylons.

In all, the engineer units of the EMD have equipped and are maintaining four bridges, one ferry service, and 13 crossings with the use of PTS-2 floating transporters in the flood-stricken areas of the Far East.
