STRELNA, St Petersburg, September 5 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu will visit Japan on November 1-2 to meet their Japanese colleagues within the 2+2 format, President Vladimir Putin said.
Addressing Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Thursday, Putin said: “We intend to use new forms of cooperation. On your initiative the Russian foreign minister and the Russian defence minister have to visit Tokyo in early November.”
“I’m sure that such format will facilitate the development of our relations. I hope so,” the Russian president said.
Abe noted, “The political dialogue between our countries gains momentum.” “I’m glad that the ministers, Sergei Lavrov and Sergei Shoigu, will visit Japan on November 1-2,” he added.
