Putin notes successful development of Russia-Vietnam relations

Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of proclamation of Vietnam's independence

MOSCOW, September 2 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of proclamation of independence of the Socialistic Republic of Vietnam.

“Passing through many hardships with honor Vietnam has achieved tangible successes in economic and social development and gained a high authority on the international scene,” Putin said in a congratulatory telegram, which was posted on the official Kremlin website on Monday.

“Russian-Vietnamese relations, which are based on glorious traditions of friendship and mutual aid, are developing quite successfully. I believe that our future contacts will contribute to further consolidation of comprehensive strategic partnership and will open up new opportunities for practical cooperation in different spheres. This meets fully the interests of our peoples and is in line with the policy to ensure stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region,” the Russian leader said in the congratulatory message.

Putin wished to the Vietnamese counterpart strong health, happiness and new successes in his responsible work and wellbeing and prosperity to Vietnamese citizens.
