MOSCOW, August 29 (Itar-Tass) - Elmira Abdrazakova, a young and beautiful woman from Russia who is taking part in the Miss World-2013 beauty contest in Jakarta, will present a balalaika- a Russian folk music instrument, at a charity auction to be held prior to the contest.
The balalaika is a unique music instrument that has been traditionally used in Russia to play folk tunes; it reflects a kind and good-humored character of the Russian nation, Elmira said.
The balalaika, which is an excellent example of handwork, has a picture featuring a scene from everyday life. The balalaika along with the other things, that participants in the beauty contest will present at the action, will be sold to the highest bidder. The money raised will go to charities.
The Russian woman who is competing for the Miss World crown began preparations for the contest in Moscow. She is leaving for Indonesia on September 2.
"The recent month has been very busy. A teacher taught me to walk on the podium. I improved my English, took a course in fitness to be in a good physical shape and was taught the rules of healthy nutrition,” Elmira said.
She is going to perform Prelude Do diez Minor by Rakhmaninov at a Talent Show to be held in the framework of the world beauty contest." I prefer this composition because this year we are celebrating the 140th anniversary of Rakhmaninov's birth, and I think that the composition will be very timely,” Elmira said.
She has also learned to dance a Russian folk dance that she will perform in a costume designed by Russian fashion designer Vyacheslav Zaitsev. An evening dress by U.S. fashion designer Sherri Hill is hoped to bring her luck at the final show on the podium.
"I am happy to represent Russia at the beauty contest which will be an important experience for me,"Elmira said.
The winners of the Miss World-2013 beauty contest will be announced in Jakarta on September 28. Participants from 130 world countries will contest the crown of Miss World-2013.
