"The aerospace industry is a bright example what advantage it gives," the Ukrainian Prime Minister noted

KIEV, August 28 (Itar-Tass) - Ukrainian-Russian cooperation in aircraft building reinforces positions of both countries, Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov said.

Speaking at a government session on Wednesday, Azarov said: “The aerospace industry is a bright example what advantage it gives.”

“Ukraine has many Russian partners: three aircraft plants, 23 research institutions, 33 manufacturing enterprises, 63 equipment suppliers and 11 aircraft overhaul plants,” the premier said.

At present, Ukraine and Russia carry out such large-scale projects as batch manufacturing of the An-148 and An-140 aircraft, modernisation of the An-124-100 aircraft and the designing of the An-70 military transport aircraft with the D-27 engines, Azarov said.
