MINSK, August 28 (Itar-Tass) - Belarus has been making preparations to station a Russian Air Force base on its territory, Defense Minister of Belarus Yuri Zhadobin told a news conference on Wednesday.
"We suppose that by the yearend a small contingent of the Russian Air Force, which will perform definite functions, will be stationed on the territory of Belarus first, the minister said. Approximately by the same time - in the end of 2013- early in 2014, depending on the interstate procedures which both Belarus and Russia will make, a normative basis for stationing the Russian Air Force base on the territory of Belarus will have been prepared. Belarus has been working on this document at the moment, the minister said.
Only afterwards the preparation of the facilities will begin for stationing corresponding units of the Russian Air Force on the territory of Belarus, Zhadobin said.
