NAZRAN, August 28 (Itar-Tass) - The law enforcement agencies are searching for the criminals, who killed the secretary of the Security Council in the North Caucasus Republic of Ingushetia and his driver on Tuesday. The investigating agencies are taking several investigating actions. In particular, the ballistic expertise of the cartridge cases showed that the gun from which the shot were made is involved in other seven crimes, which were committed in the republic, a source in the republican investigating agencies told Itar-Tass on Wednesday. “There are all grounds to affirm that the so-called Malgobek gang, which is led by warlord Artur Gatagazhev and which is rampaging in Ingushetia, is involved in this crime,” the source said.

On Wednesday, the Russian Investigative Committee also confirmed the information that Artur Gatagazhev is involved in the murder of the secretary of the Ingush Security Council.

“Thanks to the professional work of detectives from the central staff of the Russian Investigative Committee in close cooperation with the task forces of the police and the Federal Security Service department in the Republic of Ingushetia it was found that members of an illegal armed unit headed by Artur Getagazhev that is rampaging in Malgobek district of the Republic of Ingushetia are involved in the attempt on the life of Secretary of the Ingush Security Council Akhmed Kotiyev,” the source said.

Akhmed Kotiyev was killed in the settlement of Nizhniye Achaluki, Malgobek district of Ingushetia on Wednesday. The killers were shooting at his car, as a result the driver died instantaneously at the murder scene and the secretary of the republican Security Council died on the way to the hospital.

“The main theory of the crime (Kotiyev’s murder) is his professional activity at the post of the secretary of the Ingush Security Council, particularly aimed at the adaptation of surrendered militants to the peaceful life,” the source added.
