MOSCOW, August 23 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed the situation in Syria with his British and Italian opposite numbers by telephone on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
“Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and British Foreign Secretary William Hague had a telephone conversation at the British side’s request on August 23,” the Russian Foreign Ministry went on to say.
“The sides exchanged views on urgent international issues presenting reciprocal interest. Special attention was paid to Syria,” the Ministry said.
Syria was also a theme of Lavrov’s telephone conversation with Italian Foreign Minister Emma Bonino held at her request.
