Four die, 35 injured in ship-barge collision

MOSCOW, August 17 (Itar-Tass) - The number of people injured in the collision of a passenger ship and a barge on the Irtysh River has risen to 35, the Russian Emergencies Ministry's spokesperson Irina Rossius told Itar-Tass.

According to the updated information, four people died and 35 were injured. They are hospitalized. Ten of them are in grave condition, she said.

Meanwhile, investigators are working to establish the causes of the collision.

Investigators of the Investigative Committee's West Siberian regional transport investigation department have launched an inquiry into the fact of the collision of a ship and a barge in the Omsk Region. They work at the site to establish all the circumstances, an SK source said.
