VOLGOGRAD, August 16 (Itar-Tass) - Two people died and ten others, including two children, were injured in a road accident involving a minibus near Russia’s southern city of Volgograd, a spokesman for the local traffic police department told Itar-Tass on Friday.

The accident took place at around 16:30 Moscow time at the 32nd kilometer of the M6 highway linking Volgograd and Moscow.

“A Mercedes minibus was moving from Volgograd to the town of Frolovo,” the spokesman said. “There were 15 people in the minibus. A Lada Priora car with three people on board was moving in the opposite direction when it went off its lane and rammed the minibus.” The minibus overturned. The Lada driver had no apparent signs of alcohol or drug intoxication but he will be taken to a medical establishment for examination.

An investigation is underway.
