Russia hopes DPRK and South Korea will build constructive dialogue after solving Kaesong issue

This will help ease tensions, strengthen security and form an atmosphere of trust and cooperation on the Korean Peninsula, Russia's Foreign Ministry believes

MOSCOW, August 15 (Itar-Tass) - Russia hopes that North Korea and South Korea, based on the “Kaesong experience,” will be able to develop a productive dialogue on other vital issues as well, Russia's Foreign Ministry stated on Thursday.

“This will help ease tensions, strengthen security and form an atmosphere of trust and cooperation on the Korean Peninsula,” the ministry emphasised.

The Kaesong industrial complex will resume the work, the Ministry of Unification reported on Wednesday, August 14.

An agreement to this effect was reached by the Republic of Korea and the DPRK during the 7th round of talks, the report says.

The delegations of both countries signed a five-point agreement, which envisions measures to prevent the closure of the Kaesong industrial complex and the creation of a joint committee to determine the size of compensations to companies, which sustained losses.
