Seven amphibious carriers PTS-2 are evacuating local residents, vehicles and possessions from partially flooded settlements

MOSCOW, August 14 (Itar-Tass) - Floating equipment of the Eastern Military District is evacuating people from partially flooded settlements of Russia’s Far East, military district’s spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Gordeyev told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

“Seven amphibious carriers PTS-2 are evacuating local residents, vehicles and possessions from partially flooded settlements,” Gordeyev said. According to him, two amphibious carriers that arrived in the settlement of Leninskoye (Jewish Autonomous Area) on Tuesday have evacuated more than 20 heads of cattle to the settlement of Kalinino.

Amphibious carriers in the Amur region are also evacuating local residents, supply foodstuffs to the partially flooded areas, Gordeyev said.

Two more PTS-2 teams are prepared for the dispatch to the settlement of Babstovo in the Jewish Autonomous Area, the spokesman added.
