Russian-Chinese wargames confirm anti-terrorist effectiveness of military aircrafts

Helicopters prove to be capable of completely wide range of objectives

YEKATERINBURG, August 13 (Itar-Tass) - Russian-Chinese anti-terrorist war games, "Peace Mission 2013," has confirmed effectiveness of military aviation in fighting international terrorism, a representative of the Russian Central Military District told Itar-Tass on Tuesday as he summed up results of the exercise which began in Chebarkul range, Chelyabinsk region, on July 27.

In combating terrorists, various types of helicopter can be used for reconnaissance and enemy detection in real time. "It facilitates target acquisition for assault aircrafts, bombers and artillery, helps evaluate target damage, destroy enemy hardware and personnel and deploy paratroopers for tactical missions," the military official said.

In simulated combat, the terrorists base  was elimininated in 55 minutes with the help of military aviation and motorized infantry.

Peace Mission 2013 will end on August 15. It involves more than 1,500 troops and 250 units of military equipment, including 20 aircraft and helicopters.
