YEKATERINBURG, August 13. (Itar-Tass) - Deputy head of the Verkhnyaya Pyshma department of Russia’s Investigative Committee Danil Zaynullin told Itar-Tass that expert evaluation has concluded that the woman was aware of her actions and knowingly commited the crime.
“Infants, whose bodies were discovered in the ‘Tsentralnyy’ grocery store, were borin in 2008 and 2010 respetively. Results of a psychiatric evaluation indicate their mother deliberately chose such a cruel way to get rid of her children,” the official said, adding that the investigation is to closed shortly; judicial proceeding will follow immediately.
Grocery store staff discovered the bodies May 14 during an inspection. One of the bodies was stored in the freezer for five years; the other one – for three years. May 16 the investigation found the children’s mother and taken into custody until court hearings. She is charged with “Murder of newborn infant by the mother”.
This crime has caused public uproar not only among Russians, but also among citizens of CIS states.
