Russian and Chinese servicemen ready to rebuff terrorist attack

The Peace Mission 2013 exercises take place from July 27 to August 15 and involve over 1,500 servicemen

CHEBARKUL, Chelyabinsk region, August 12 (Itar-Tass) - Russian and Chinese servicemen said they were ready to rebuff a terrorist attack within the Peace Mission 2013 anti-terrorist exercise.

Servicemen take part in neutralizing terrorists when the situation is critical. “Such state with an imaginary ‘A’ was created during the exercise,” head of the combat training section of the Central Military District Ramil Gilyazov.

“Extremists exploded a hydropower plant and thermal power stations on the territory of the state, destabilized the situation and threatened the neighboring countries,” Gilyazov said.

Practical actions within the Russian-Chinese Peace Mission 2013 anti-terrorist exercises have been ended successfully at the Chebarkul firing range, Chelyabinsk region.

During the exercises, servicemen have seized an imaginary base of terrorists at the village of Kaslino. Under the legend, gang formations reinforced their positions in the area. Snipers winched to neutralize gang formations. Mechanized infantry servicemen made an assault on buildings, which had been seized by imaginary terrorists. Mortar batteries of the two army launched fire at the targets.

During the assault, Russian and Chinese servicemen used the BMP-2 combat vehicles, the T-72 tanks and the Su-24 bomber fighters of the Central Military District, as well as the Flying Leopards fighters.

After the base was seized Russian and Chinese units started neutralizing scattered groups of terrorists.

The Peace Mission 2013 exercises take place from July 27 to August 15 and involve over 1,500 servicemen and about 200 units of military equipment.
