Suspect in Oboronservis case left under house arrest

Former head of Defense Ministry’s property department Yevgenia Vasilyeva was placed under house arrest on November 23, 2012

MOSCOW, August 5 (Itar-Tass) - The Moscow City Court on Monday left under house arrest Yevgenia Vasilyeva, a suspect in Oboronservis case, Itar-Tass reports from the courtroom.

Former head of Defense Ministry’s property department Yevgenia Vasilyeva was placed under house arrest on November 23, 2012. Later, the Moscow City Court mitigated her house arrest conditions, but maintained the ban on leaving home without investigator’s permission.

Meanwhile, apprehended damage incurred by Vasilyeva was estimated at six billion rubles.

Earlier, investigators estimated the damage from her actions at four billion rubles.

“Currently, as many as 23 criminal cases have been institutes. Overall damage exceeds six billion roubles,” the Russian Investigation Committee representative said.
