MAKHACHKALA, August 5 (Itar-Tass) - A second explosive device, which was found at the round-the-clock food store Kristall in Makhachkala, turned out to be a dummy one, a source in the republican law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass on Monday.
“The sappers found that the second bomb is dummy. The blast power of the first bomb, in which only the detonator exploded and which the bomb disposal technicians defused later, reached five kilograms of trotyle,” the source said.
On Sunday evening, the explosion went off in Makhachkala at the round-the-clock food store on the corner of Kotrov and Yaragsky Streets, then the blast triggered a fire, which was put out quickly. As many as 16 people were injured, two of them needed hospitalization. Later the explosion went off at the Kristall shop on Imam Shamil Avenue. Only the detonator, not the bomb exploded. The shop was closed, therefore, no heavily destroyed buildings or injured people were reported. After the bomb was unarmed, the law enforcers found one more object resembling an explosive device nearby.
