NIZHNY NOVGOROD, August 5 (Itar-Tass) - A member of the punk band Pussy Riot Maria Alyokhina was convoyed to a female penitentiary in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the press service of the regional branch of the Federal Penitentiary Service reported on Monday.
“Maria Alyokhina was brought to a female penitentiary in the Nizhny Novgorod region,” press secretary of the regional branch of the Russian penitentiary watchdog Nina Frolova told Itar-Tass. She did not note when and in which penitentiary Alyokhina was convoyed, citing the legislation.
Two female penitentiaries in the Ardatov district and in Nizhny Novgorod are situated in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
A member of a scandalous punk band was serving the sentence at Berezniki female penitentiary in Perm Territory for an escapade at the Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Moscow. Alyokhina was transferred to another penitentiary on the order from the Federal Penitentiary Service.
