MOSCOW, August 4 (Itar-Tass) - Lawmakers of the Russian State Duma lower parliament house want to know who invited the American punk group Bloodhound Gang, whose bass guitarist Evil Jared Hasselhoff had desecrated the Russian national flag at a concert in Odessa, to Russia. Deputy speaker and secretary of the General Council of the ruling United Russia party Sergei Neverov said on Sunday a request to this effect would be channeled to controlling bodies.
There can be nothing in common with musicians who desecrated the Russian flag, he stressed. “But we have questions to those who invited them to Russia, who organized their concerts, who arranged for venues and paid them,” he said. “Whose order the group was playing to? Those who have paid them to do what they did? Like it was with Madonna… These are links of one chain.”
So, “an inquiry will be channels to relevant bodies to find out all the circumstances of this invitation - who is behind it,” he said. “Organizers of such performances must be brought to full responsibility for what happened and caused indignation in Russia.”
Bloodhound Gang’s performance at the Kubana-2013 festival in Russia’s southern Krasnodar Territory was cancelled.
