MOSCOW, August 3 (Itar-Tass) - The organization “Service of Blood Donation” invites all people to participate in a free 5th action “Saturday of Blood Donors”, which will be held in all Russian cities on Saturday.

The organizers noted that in summer the number of blood donors is sharply on decline, and, moreover, many working people cannot donate their blood on a workday. “To help settle this problem, the service of blood donation holds an action, which give an opportunity to each, even the busiest person, to find some time for a generous act and donate the blood,” the organizers of the action said.

Despite the fact the payment for blood donation is cancelled this year, the specialists note a growing tendency in the number of blood donors. The growth in the number of blood donors and the amount of donated blood and blood components takes place mainly in those regions, where the blood donation is promoted actively, the actions, which are seeking for a free blood donation involving the volunteers and non-profit organizations, are held and where mobile blood donation stations are placed, director of the department of medical prevention aid, urgent and first aid and resort treatment of the Russian Health Ministry Alexei Andreyev said earlier.
