MOSCOW, July 31 (Itar-Tass) - Moscow’s Dorgomilovo court has arrested for two months a man accused of raping a 15-year-old girl. A policeman was injured in the operation to detain the man, Magomed Magomedov, last Saturday.
“The court has upheld the investigator’s appeal to impose an arrest for two months until September 26, as pre-trial restraint,” court spokeswoman Anastasia Tatarulya said.
Magomedov was detained on charges of raping an underage girl on Moscow’s Minskaya Street on July 26. The girl has identified the accused man. He has confessed to the rape and his confession was confirmed during face-to-face questioning, the Investigative Committee said on Wednesday.
About 20 residents of Russian southern regions tried to recapture Magomedov from police at Moscow’s Matveyevsky market on Saturday. A policeman received a grave head injury in that incident and was rushed to an intensive care ward.
