MOSCOW, July 30 (Itar-Tass) - Emergency Situations Ministry’s (EMERCOM) rescuers are evacuating people from the Ostankino television centre because of a fire that broke out there, the city police told Itar-Tass.
“The fire at the television centre has been given the second degrees on the fire danger scale. The evacuation of people from the building is underway,” said the source.
“According to preliminary reports, the fire started on the sixth floor of the television centre in Akademika Koroleva Street,” the source said. He specified that fire and smoke were visible on the sixth floor of the building. Fire fighters and rescue teams have been arriving at the scene. There have been no reports on casualties yet.
The fire extinguishing headquarters have been set up at the incident site.
