Cambodia’s parliamentary elections end without serious incidents

Elections took place in a calm atmosphere despite opposition not recognizing results, Foreign Ministry says

MOSCOW, July 30. (Itar-Tass) - Cambodia’s parliamentary elections took place without serious incidents, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

The Cambodian People’s Party won parliamentary elections on July 28. However, the opposition does not recognize the results.

“In general, elections took place in a calm manner without serious incidents that can affect voters’ expression of will,” the ministry said. “We hope for further development of cooperation with Cambodia, including parliamentary one.”
